At the WWDC 2012, we had four important announcements. While two where regarding the OS X and iOS 6, the rest were hardware related – and by that, yes, we mean MacBook Airs and MacBook Pros.
MacBook Air has gotten itself a very brand new upgrade with several new features added to it this time. We’ll give you a quick run-down of all the new things on the MacBook Air and provide you with what’s impressive enough to get to the headlines.
Ivy Bridge CPU
- MacBook Air gets the Ivy Bridge Intel CPU now.
- That is going to be 3rd generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors
- This will clock at 2.0GHz and a turbo boost of up to 3.2 GHz
HD FaceTime
Now you’ll have the best FaceTime convos ever – in 720p HD. That’s right – Apple finally brings all the HD phenomena to the FaceTime camera on MacBook Air.
Memory
- There’s going to be an 8GB RAM
- and a whopping 512 GB flash storage
- RAM clocks at 1600MHz giving a fantastic and faster graphics support
And of course USB 3 – with the option of using USB 2 also on the same port.
