Lenovo K91 Smart TV Specifications and Features

The CES 2012 begins tomorrow but even before that, some stunning gadgets have already been displayed and demoed at the CES Unveiled (a press event) before CES begins. One of the things that have captured the attention of technologies, industrialists, experts and even customers is the Lenovo K91 Android Smart TV. It comes as one of the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich-running televisions that are not from the Google camp. Samsung and LG are also in line to launch their own Android TVs but of the lot that’s already come out, the Lenovo K91 Smart TV sure makes a huge impact.
The Lenovo K91 Smart TV release date looks pretty hard to guess right now, but later this year is a safe guess. Before we delve into that, here’s what the Lenovo K91 Smart TV features:

The Lenovo K91 Smart TV is an Android TV running Android 4 ICS. It is not the Google TV but comes with its own Sandwich which has been designed to improve the way users connect to the internet via their television.
The 55-inch television comes as an LED TV. It is 3D ready also, which gives an added advantage at a time when 3D television is quickly becoming popular at the consumer electronics level.
The Lenovo K91 Smart TV also features a particularly high refresh rate of 240Hz. This helps in a very crystal clear display of even 3D output.
The Lenovo K91 Smart TV offers a variety of gaming, internet and video-on-demand features too. The demonstration of VoD is reported to have impressed the people at the demo.
Not only this, but the Lenovo Smart TV also comes with a touch-sensitive remote control. Not just this, but the remote control also has a microphone which lets you control the TV via voice commands. Commands through natural dictation seemed to work perfectly well.
Motion-sensing is also another aspect of the TV which would be a benefit for gamers using Nintendo Wii-like gaming controls.
Being an Android TV, the Lenovo however does not get you the Android Marketplace to its OS. Instead, there’s the Lenovo Marketplace but the TV already comes with over a 100 preinstalled apps which would do just fine.

There is no question of the Lenovo K91 Smart TV release date as yet, although reports say that it is already available in the Chinese market. It is expected to be released sometime later this year. The price of the television is unknown too although it would be well over many of the prevalent rates.
